My Professional Journey

After completing my education, I secured a US scholarship through the British American Chambers of Commerce an organisation that promotes British and American interests in business and commerce on both sides of the Atlantic. This scholarship allowed me to move to Philadelphia with my partner in 2002 and my Human Resources career took off.

I began working for RELX, a global information analytics company that helps institutions and professionals progress science, advance healthcare and improve performance for the benefit of humanity.  After spending two years supporting the medical periodicals division I decided to move from the corporate world and obtain some hands-on HR experience working for a smaller family-run property management business outside of Philadelphia.

In 2004, I decided to move into financial services and joined HSBC North America (previously Household International). After a successful time with HSBC, I was transferred back to the UK to work in their London global head office, eventually moving from HSBC Bank UK to Lloyds Bank, Bloomberg LP and then Barclays. During my time working within financial services I obtained some valuable skills, looking at the big picture, being intuitive, stakeholder engagement, building relationships, influencing, earning credibility and being prepared for a moment of uncertainty and being able to juggle different projects and situations simultaneously. These skills helped me to become versatile, flexible and multifaceted.

After a short break in New York and 8 years of working as a HR executive in the financial services, I moved into the luxury retail and hospitality space and spent time working for the Estee Lauder Group and then was appointed as the HR lead on the launch of a new five-star luxury hotel concept in London and Singapore – with that idea being shelved I left Clermont Hotels and took on a role working for the very company that launched my career back in Philadelphia – LexisNexis, part of RELX.

In 2016 I joined Kantar Group, part of WPP – I have since left and am now pursuing some exciting projects.
